OUR HISTORY
|
The Club was formed in 1978 by Derek Elliott, Dave White, Bob Sheppard & George French.
On the 16th December 1979 about 600 people attended the Kent Bill protest march, representing 40 clubs from all over the British Isles. The march was organized by the Detector Information Group (DIG). The march was to protest against the kent bill which would effect all detectorists if It had been passed. The actions to protect the detectorists which our club attended (see pic below).

Many things started to happen, more clubs opend and more rallys for a while, in the years the club has had up to as 50 members and has had its good times and bad times with members going to more local clubs and abrievments and retirements and so on but the club has started to grow again and now we have our past to thank and the NCMD which stand up for our much loved hobby, So far our club has stood up to the test of time and looks forward to the next generation of detectorists and many more years to come.
